RC is partnering with Trend Hunter, the world’s most powerful trend platform, to spark new ideas, unlock insights, and help revive our industry. COMPETITIONS

Witness the rise of emerging talent at the annual Garland Canada Culinary Competition. This year’s contest includes both a virtual and a live component, during which participating chefs will demonstrate their creativity and skill for a panel of judges and compete for $10,000 in cash and prizes. In the past two years, bars and restaurants all over the world have not only had to find new ways to adapt and grow, but also to strengthen existing ties and create new bonds. With this in mind, the Beyond the Rail Competition, presented by Beam Suntory, will test competitors’ creative and technical skills, and also showcase their ability to work together. See the latest trends, products and processes come to life on stage as they compete for $5,000 in cash and prizes. Watch as six of Canada’s top sommeliers are put to the test in the Sommelier Service Competition. Competing for $3,000 in cash and an all-expenses-paid trip to renowned Champagne, France to visit the Piper-Heidsieck and Charles Heidsieck Champagne houses, sommeliers will prove their knowledge, poise and service skills to a team of judges.
Dairy Farmers of Canada are helping you up to your coffee game with the art and science of coffee contests. In addition to the Barista Qualifier rounds, the rigorous Cup Tasters Competition will take place on the Coffee stage across all three days.

Restaurants Canada is always proud to honour the passionate, innovative people who strive to make a difference in the industry. This year it seems particularly important to celebrate the creative hard work of those who give back to their community and the industry as a whole. The RC Leadership, Culinary Excellence and Innovation Awards will be presented throughout RC Show Past winners include Chef Billy Alexander, who spread his passion for Indigenous cuisine across the country, Chef Keith Hoare, who has taught and inspired generations of culinary students, and Gastronomous, a company at the forefront of technological transformation. We also shine a light on the companies who made outstanding and engaging contributions to the show floor with the RC Show Exhibitor Awards.
